Beer, sausages and beatboxing - The 2012 Beatbox Battle World Championships in Berlin

Snakker ikke Norsk reporter Louis Chaudre accompanied Norwegian beat boxer D9 on his trip to Berlin to compete at the 3rd Beatbox Battle World Championships. Can D9 bring home the trophy?
Berlin is one of the most popular travel destinations in Europe. Beer and sausages are certainly part of the charm, but most go to Berlin to soak up the pulsating cultural life. The bars. The galleries. The clubs. Not so the two young Norwegians going under the names of D9 and Northboy. For them it was about becoming world champions.

Last sunday Norwegian beatboxers D9 and Northboy visited Snakker ikke Norsk in the studio to give us a sample of the high art of beatboxing. Two weeks ago they were in Germany’s capital Berlin, competing at the 3rd Beatbox Battle World Championships. Almost one hundred contestants from countries all over the world battled it out for the title in front of a frenetic audience.
Louis Chaudre packed a German phrase book, a change of underwear and his trusted portable recorder and accompanied D9 on his quest to become the best beatboxer in the world. Listen here for Louis Chaudre’s report from Berlin:
